It's not every midcap stock. The alpha lies in putting in the work and finding good companies. Be it midcap or smallcap.

This is good news for both the shipping/defence stocks and green energy stocks. Stocks like Cochin shipyard and mazagon dock have already given more than 100% returns since June!

Is there any particular reason you're investing in funds from Mahindra manulife?
I would go with the following:
Small cap:
* Nippon India smallcap
* HDFC smallcap
Midcap:
* PGIM midcap opportunities
* Motilal Oswal midcap
* Kotak emerging equity

You just have exposure to smallcap funds. Try investing in a midcap fund like PGIM midcap opportunities or axis midcap fund.

This substantiates the fact that they are not the powerhouse they once were and that they need other global superpowers to get them out of the low-growth rut they are in.

If you see smallcaps for a short time period, they may appear very volatile and a bad investment in most of the cases. But in the long run, they usually give good returns. As the Indian economy is expected to outperform all other economies, i believe, smallcaps will have the run ...

Like the article describes, it should be out to good use after such events. It should not end up being white elephants as is the case with Brazil after the Olympic games!

Zerodha has always come up with simple and powerful products and has a great track record of being highly functional. Let's hope this will be the same.
