In my opinion, you should start with SIP in MidCap, Indexfund (for large cap). and taking about lumpsome, try to do it when market gets down [it helps to generate more alphafor you] (if you can)
And about smallCap, I think it is senseless to invest in smallcap for over 5yrs time ...
