Investment in Equity or Equity related mutual funds always carries high risk
But if You want to invest in a mutual fund without risk then go for liquid fund here your returns like f.d without any lock-in (returns - 6-7 % Annually)

For starting SIP any time is good and even if you are in your 20's then it's an excellent opportunity

1. SBI Nifty 50 index fund - 2000
2. Icici Midcap 150 index fund - 2000
3. Tata Smallcap fund - 2000

First gain knowledge about flexi cap
Flexi cap fund are investing in all three categories large, mid and small according to knowledge of fund managers
So if you are investing in flexi cap then large cap overlap to flexi cap
so it's completely your choice

Why are you investing in large and index fund both choose one of them because they will give almost similar return in long run
Now your risk appetite is moderate so diversify as below
1 Index/Largecap - 50%
2. Midcap - 30%
3. Smallcap - 20%

Yes absolutely, so according to your risk appetite change percentage in smallcap. But invest in small cap because you have 10 years so small cap boost your return with minimal risk.

Sip is definitely better than ULIP.

Icici Commodity fund has 50% allocation in the metal sector and the metal sector is a cyclical sector means this sector most of the time in consolidation face.
