HDFC Bank has overtaken IT giant, Tata Consultancy Services, becoming India's second-most valuable company by market capitalisation. Following the merger of its mortgage financier parent, HDFC Bank has a market capitalisation of INR12.7tn ($173bn), more than $783m higher than TCS' INR12.67tn valuation.
