Exactly, rather what could be done is if their pension is sufficient enough for their monthly expenses then they can further invest monthly interests in the other financial instruments to generate alpha, this would atleast keep their capital safe and they are taking the risk just...

Additionally you want to do FDs with small finance banks (for higher returns) make sure the capital doesn't exceeds 5 lakhs as that is the amount insured by DGCA incase the bank sinks. You'll get the amount but when that nobody will know.

I'm sorry but I don't agree with any of the comments, his father probabaly wants to keep the capital intact. So if he doesn't not require any incoming cash flow keep it in the FDs, HDFC is giving 7.75 for 5 yrs (senior citizen) 7-7.25% for normal citizens. PO's NSC almost 50% gai...

@shubham94 Yeah that's what I think as well, but I am just thinking if ocassional intakes like that will affect the premium amount or not

If someone ocassionally drinks or smokes lets say once in 6 months or a year or maybe even 2, should that be mentioned in the Term Insurance as well or not?
