    Planning to deposit Rs 2000 banknotes? How to deposit at ICICI Bank cash deposit machine

    After withdrawal of Rs 2000 notes from circulation, people are heading to banks to exchange and deposit the withdrawn notes. The deadline to deposit, exchange Rs 2000 is September 30, 2023, according to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

    ICICI Bank recently sent an informative mail to its customers, explaining and guiding customers on how and what can be done with Rs 2000 banknotes.


    Exchange of Rs 2000
    ICICI Bank said that you can exchange your Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes in any of the following ways:
    • At a branch of any bank (up to Rs 20,000 at a time). You don’t need to have an account with the bank.
    • At the Regional Offices of the RBI (up to Rs 20,000 at a time).

    Deposit of Rs 2000
    As an ICICI Bank customer, you can deposit the Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes into your account in the usual manner, without any restrictions and subject to existing KYC norms, ICICI Bank stated. You can deposit in any of the following ways:
    • At your nearest branch (Senior Citizens can avail of our doorstep banking facility for deposit).
    • You can use our Cash Deposit Machines available at our select branches and ATMs to deposit Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes 24x7.

    If you want to avoid rush at a bank branch, you can deposit your Rs 2000 banknotes at ICICI Bank ATM cash deposit machine by following these steps.

    Step 1: Visit an ICICI Bank cash deposit machine
    Step 2: Select Cardless cash Deposit option at the ATM machine and select ‘customer’
    Step 3: Enter 12 digit account number and click continue.
    Step 4: Confirm the name and click Yes, to continue
    Step 4: Keep the cash in the slot which will be opened after you enter the account number.
    Step 5: Wait till the transaction is processed. Machine will count and calculate the amount.
    Step 6:It will display denominations of deposit- Click on Accept button.
    Step 7: Enter your mobile number and click on Continue.
    Step 6: Confirm and Collect the transaction receipt.

    The bank also said that it will not levy any charges for handling the Rs 2,000 denomination banknotes until September 30, 2023, for its Individual Savings Account customers.
