RBI (Reserve Bank of India) has taken steps to increase the repo rate by 40 basis points to 4.4% and CRR (Cash Reserve Ratio) by 50 basis points to 4.5% of net demand and time liabilities. This step will help in citing inflationary pressure and to control surplus liquidity in the country.
