Trading Beginners Q and A

I have a doubt that...
When i had purchased 10 shares of tata motors it is showing profit
But when i had buy again 5 shares in that it is showing loss
Comparatively both are tata motors share but one is in loss and other is in profit
How can this possible ?
Can someone help me why this is happening..??

For example, You bought 10 shares at 100rs each then you bought 5 shares at 150rs each and now that stock is trading at 120rs so your first 10 shares are in profit of 20rs and remaining 5 shares are in loss of 30rs.

I believe you have bought your 10 & 5 shares in different dates. If so it could be showing the loss for the 5 shares u bought. (If the market fell post u bought those 5 shares).

AFTER BUYING YOUR PRICE WAS DROP FROM THE AVG PRICE WHEN YOU ADD STOCK IN PROFIT THAT TIME YOUR AVG PRICE INCREASE NOT DECREASE BECAUSE YOU BOUGHT THE SHARE ON RUNNING PROFIT SCENERIO, YES IF YOU ADD STOCKS IN LOSS THAT TIME YOUR AVG PRICE WILL DECREASE AND SHOW PROFIT WHEN TATA MOTOR WILL RUNN OVER YOUR AVG PRICE

MARKET USE FIFO METHOD ACCORDING YOU CAN CHECK IT

When you buy a stock and currently it is showing some profit .
And you buy the same stock again then both the stock will be at averaged price that is if other has loss from it cpm the it will be deducted from the net profit on the first stock you hold

It's simply because of the difference in the entry prices. Your profit/loss in each entry will be adjusted according to your current stock price -entry price
