Did you know Walmart is a real-estate company?
Sounds crazy, isn't it?
Walmart, on average, buys 4x the land required for their store.
When Walmart opens a store at some location, the real estate prices are supposed to go up there.
They lease the additional space within the complex to other brands, including banks, companies, etc.
Walmart Realty (their real-estate arm) works closely with local brokerages & communities and hunts for tenants all the time.
They also sell the additional land to other enterprises. This includes restaurants, game zones, etc.
It has been estimated that 90% of Americans live within 10 miles of a Walmart store.
So YES! Walmart is a real-estate company.
A pretty big one.
