ā¢ The Delhi High Court has stayed proceedings against Hero Motocorp Chairman Pawan Kant Munjal by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) after he was exonerated by the Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT) on the same set of facts.
ā¢ The high court noted that the summoning order was passed without giving any reasons and stayed all proceedings against Munjal till February 21, 2024.
ā¢ The DRI had filed a prosecution complaint against Munjal and others for allegedly exporting prohibited items, but the high court found that the complaint was identical to a previous show-cause notice and that the DRI had not disclosed the previous order exonerating Munjal.
