In 1985, Hero MotoCorp Limited began the production of their first motorcycle. This had helped the organization to increase its brand recognition, as the bike namely CD100 had been very popular among the youth of India. This year, the production in Haryana’s Dharuhera plant was commissioned.
In 1989, the Hero MotoCorp Limited had released the new motorcycle model, namely Sleek. In 2003, the company launched several new upgraded models of two-wheelers. In the same year, the organization inaugurated Hero Honda Karizma, with an engine capacity of 223cc, which came out as a challenge to any rival companies of Indian automobile industries.
In 2011, Hero and Honda signed a new agreement that manifested as the renaming of Hero Honda to Hero. In 2012, the company had gone for a strategic partnership with USA-based Erik Buell Racing. A deal was also made in the same year with a European technology and design partner.
