Russia: Sending weapons to Ukraine a dangerous escalation
The Russian Foreign Ministry's spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned today's Ukraine Defense Contact Group conference at Ramstein Air Base in Germany in a statement released on Friday.
Zakharova criticized the United States for authorizing a new $2.5 billion military aid package to Ukraine, as well as the United Kingdom's decision to provide tanks to the Kiev forces. She also noted the readiness of the European Union to support Ukraine, calling all the above actions an "open provocative incitement by the West and an increase in the stakes in the conflict, which will inevitably lead to an increase in casualties and a dangerous escalation."
