Margin is high because you are selling the option. Option selling orders require high margins due to potential unlimited loss.
Buying the option would only require 15*250=3750 rupees.

@madanugale  Theta, Time decay, is our enemy. Delta, Change in derivative price per change in underlying, is our best friend.

In last Thursday of the month, monthly and weekly expiry are the same. Both short term and Longer term players are trading the same thing, so higher volume.

@mahiiis  If you are content with 12-15% Annual Returns, you can invest in ETF(Exchange Traded Fund) based on Nifty 50 like NIFTYBEES. Just set an SIP based on your financial capability and forget it. No stress, no effort.

For Nifty and Bank Nifty options, you have nothing to worry about. There are enough traders that transaction happens instantly.
For stock options, you might have to set a limit price and wait until a buyer acts on it.
For a beginner, it's better to stick with index options.

I would suggest iron butterfly or iron condor. Basically, Sell Call and Put (ATM/OTM) and Buy Call and Put (Further OTM). Margin is lesser compared to naked Selling and Risk is limited. Check out Strategy Builder of your broker or of platform like Opstra, try out all variations y...
