*YES BANK - an Expert View*
1) Previous allegations and court cases of Erwin Singh Braich should not be used as a judging mechanism for current circumstances. The situation would have changed from what it was 20 years back. Prem Watsa the current owner of CSB bank and Adani group had/have lot of court cases against them. Loook at how the shares are performing now. If Erwin has the money then its definitely a very good case for Yes Bank.
2) The amounts being invested by the other well known investors Discovery Capital, GMR Group and Associates, Rekha Jhunjhunwala, Aditya Birla Family Office and Ward Ferry are by no means small amounts. Definitely they would have also done due diligence on Erwin Singh Braich/SSGP and Citax since Erwin and Citax will have the controlling and maximum stake in the bank. If I am putting money anywhere I will definitely see who is getting the controlling stake.
3) People are questioning what happened to the Tech company which RG had informed earlier. That deal would not have materialized finally due to the 1 year lock in period clause which the current investors have.
4) Whatever RG has spoken till now he has achieved starting from QIP to this capital raising exercise. I still believe in him and the bank. The guy comes to the media very often and answers all questions calmly and with confidence. If he was speaking lies he would have shunned away from the media or would have sent his sub ordinates.
5) What will instill investor confidence - Erwin Singh Braich should come out and give an interview to media, confirm on the fund raising plans and also tell about his current financial status. The promised funds should be transferred to an Escrow account which will boost RBI and SEBI confidence as well.
6) I check with people on the current working of Yes Bank, no negative views come out, bank is operating as usual without facing any rundown fears. *All these make me still invested in Yes Bank, targeting 200 in a year.*
Moody's downgrade timing is to accumulate the stock nothing else as the new capital infusion is eitherway subject to Regulatory approvals & pricing. What a great this Moody's have invented.
