Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Monday's session.

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 19.98%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(up 4.88%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 4.86%), Madras Fertlizers(up 4.84%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 4.38%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 4.14%), ZUARIAGRO(up 3.05%), Coromandel International(up 2.09%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 2.00%) and Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(up 1.80%) stood among the top gainers.

Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 3.08%), G S F C(down 1.29%), Agro Phos(down 0.83%), KRISHANA(down 0.49%) and Aries Agro(down 0.28%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 14.75 points down at 16569.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 93.91 points at 55675.32.

Bajaj Auto(up 3.93%), JSW Steel(up 2.94%), Cipla(up 1.57%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.55%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 1.29%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(up 1.25%), UPL Ltd(up 1.21%), Tata Steel(up 1.01%), ITC(up 0.77%) and Mahindra & Mahindra(up 0.71%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Shree Cement(down 3.08%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 2.68%), Asian Paints(down 2.41%), UltraTech Cement(down 1.72%), Hero MotoCorp(down 1.66%), Bajaj Finserv(down 1.38%), Eicher Motors(down 1.2%), Coal India(down 1.09%), Britannia Industries(down 1.08%) and Nestle India(down 1.01%) closed in the red.
