Stock market update: Nifty Auto index advances 0.33% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded positive around 10:50AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Tata Motors(up 1.27 per cent), TIINDIA(up 1.13 per cent), Eicher Motors(up 0.94 per cent), Balkrishna Industries(up 0.86 per cent) and Samvardhana Motherson International(up 0.79 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(down 0.67 per cent), TVS Motor Company(down 0.53 per cent), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.2 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.05 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(down 0.02 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was up 0.33 per cent at 12791.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 97.75 points at 17992.6, while the BSE Sensex was up 360.84 points at 60453.81.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, IOB, Bank of Maharashtra, YES Bank and UCO Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Homesfy Realty Ltd., Maan Aluminium, Indiabulls Enterprises Ltd., Speciality Rest and Shriram EPC hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Sanwaria Consumer, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Anlon Technology Solutions Ltd., Chaman Metallics Ltd. and FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
