Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Monday at 09:59AM

Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.94%), Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(up 2.34%), Simbhaoli Sugars(up 1.79%), Rana Sugars(up 1.32%), KCP Sugar & Industries(up 1.15%), BAJAJHIND(up 1.05%), DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.85%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 0.81%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.75%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.62%) were among the top gainers.

EID Parry(down 3.98%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 2.10%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(down 1.82%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 1.22%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 1.01%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.51%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.49%), Sakthi Sugars(down 0.47%), Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries(down 0.34%) and Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 0.25%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 29.2 points up at 17633.55, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 107.09 points at 59437.99 at around 09:59AM.

Adani Enterprises(up 7.02%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(up 5.18%), Bajaj Finance(up 3.7%), Bajaj Finserv(up 2.48%), NTPC(up 1.62%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.57%), UltraTech Cement(up 1.33%), Coal India(up 1.3%), ITC(up 1.23%) and Maruti Suzuki(up 1.02%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Power Grid Corporation of India(down 2.69%), Hindustan Unilever(down 2.37%), SBI Life(down 2.0%), JSW Steel(down 1.84%), Bajaj Auto(down 1.78%), Hindalco Industries(down 1.7%), IndusInd Bank(down 1.47%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.46%), Britannia Industries(down 1.34%) and Tata Steel(down 1.12%) were trading in the red.
