Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.63% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:15AM(IST)on Friday in an upbeat market.

Ipca Laboratories(up 2.57 per cent), Granules India(up 1.54 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 1.38 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 1.3 per cent) and Aurobindo Pharma(up 1.13 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Gland Pharma(down 0.93 per cent), Strides Pharma Science(down 0.44 per cent) and Natco Pharma(down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.63 per cent at 12770.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 84.55 points at 17883.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 244.26 points at 59932.48.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 were trading in the green, while 12 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, Vodafone Idea and Zomato Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Euro India Fresh, D P Wires, BSL Ltd, Total Transport Sys and Mohini Health & Hygi hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Ameya Precision Engineers Ltd., JFL Life Sciences Ltd., GRM Overseas, Gayatri Project and FutureLifestyleFash hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
