    Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

    NEW DELHI: FMCG shares closed higher in the Monday's session.

    Parag Milk(up 10.25%), Nakoda Group(up 9.98%), Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 3.68%), Emami(up 3.61%), Dangee Dums(up 3.11%), Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 2.83%), Future Consumer(up 2.50%), Jyothy Labs(up 2.24%), Vadilal Industries(up 1.97%) and Bajaj Consumer(up 1.40%) stood among the top gainers.

    Heritage Foods(down 1.39%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(down 1.36%), Umang Dairies(down 1.31%), Prataap Snacks(down 1.17%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.42%), Dodla Dairy(down 0.39%), Gillette India(down 0.38%), Britannia Industries(down 0.30%), Hind.Foods(down 0.25%) and Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 0.18%) were among the top losers of the day.

    The NSE Nifty50 index ended 132.8 points up at 15832.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 433.3 points at 53161.28.

    Coal India(up 3.12%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 3.02%), Larsen & Toubro(up 2.74%), Tech Mahindra(up 2.65%), HCL Technologies(up 2.65%), UPL Ltd(up 2.54%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 2.42%), Hindalco Industries(up 2.37%), Infosys(up 2.32%) and Asian Paints(up 2.18%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

    On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.14%), Eicher Motors(down 1.03%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 0.61%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.4%), Reliance Industries(down 0.3%), Britannia Industries(down 0.3%), Titan Company Ltd(down 0.26%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.21%), Hero MotoCorp(down 0.16%) and Cipla(down 0.14%) closed in the red.
