Stock market update: Stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE in today's trade

NEW DELHI: Shares of Varanium Cloud Ltd., South Indian Bnk, DC Infotech, Tips Films Ltd. and Maks Energy Solutions India Ltd., hit their fresh 52-week highs during Tuesday's trade on NSE.

Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 74.4 points down at 17656.35 amid selling in frontline bluechip counters.

However, stocks such as Ganga Forging, OrissaBengalCarrier, Vikas Proppant & Gr, Quadpro ITeS Ltd. and Precot Meridian, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

Overall, 20 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 29 closed in the red.

In the Nifty 50 index, Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, JSW Steel, L&T and Eicher Motors were among top gainers during the day, while Nestle India, HUL, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finserv and Britannia ended in the red.

The BSE Sensex closed 287.7 points down at 59543.96.

Traders piled up positions in Construction, Cables, Telecommunications, Defence and Paper sectors, while selling was witnessed in NBFC, Glass, Learning & Education, Miscellaneous and IT Enabled Services sectors during the day.
