Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.8% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:39AM(IST)on Friday in a weak market.

AU Small Finance Bank(up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Punjab National Bank(down 3.12 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 1.91 per cent), IDFCBANK(down 1.84 per cent), Bank of Baroda(down 1.63 per cent) and State Bank of India(down 1.44 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.8 per cent at 43152.05 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 93.6 points at 18321.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 277.39 points at 61521.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 40 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, UCO Bank, IOB, Suzlon Energy and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Rajshree Sugars, Madras Fert, FACT, Indbank Merc and Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Cerebra Integrat, Sintex Inds., Dharmaj Crop Guard Ltd., Coastal Corp(PP)and Indiabulls Intgrtd hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
