Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 0.33% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:26AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings(up 4.02 per cent), TVS Motor Company(up 2.91 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(up 0.98 per cent) and Bajaj Auto(up 0.81 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(down 2.23 per cent), TIINDIA(down 2.18 per cent), Samvardhana Motherson International(down 2.17 per cent), MRF(down 1.73 per cent) and Ashok Leyland(down 1.63 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 0.33 per cent at 12917.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 246.2 points at 17872.1, while the BSE Sensex was down 819.6 points at 60159.15.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 5 were trading in the green, while 45 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, PNB and Tata Steel were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DRS Dilip Roadlines, Radhika Jeweltech, Lambodhara Text, Servotech Power Syst and Upsurge Seeds of Agriculture Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kiri Industries, Ballarpur Inds., Indus Towers, Aurobindo Pharma and Future Consumer hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
