Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.56% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 10:24AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Punjab National Bank(up 3.57 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 3.25 per cent), Federal Bank(up 2.18 per cent), Bandhan Bank(up 1.85 per cent) and Axis Bank(up 1.27 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 0.2 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was up 0.56 per cent at 41378.1 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 7.8 points at 18090.65, while the BSE Sensex was up 40.94 points at 60947.03.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 28 were trading in the green, while 22 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, IDFC First Bank, YES Bank, M&M Financial and BEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Karnataka Bank, GRSE, Varanium Cloud Ltd., AVSL Industries and Maks Energy Solutions India Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Manali Petro, Jai Balaji Inds, Phantom Digital Effects Ltd., Rel Capital and Williamson Magor hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
