    Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.33%

    The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.33 per cent up at 12836.35.

    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index closed on a positive note on Tuesday.

    Shares of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 2.61 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 1.21 per cent), Granules India(up 0.89 per cent), Abbott India(up 0.71 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 0.69 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

    On the other hand, Zydus Lifesciences(down 1.22 per cent), Biocon(down 1.14 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.67 per cent), Sanofi India(down 0.48 per cent) and Ipca Laboratories(down 0.44 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

    The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.33 per cent up at 12836.35.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 84.25 points at 18244.2, while the BSE Sensex stood up 274.12 points at 61418.96.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 38 ended in the green, while 11 closed in the red.

    Shares of UCO Bank, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., JP Power, YES Bank and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Easy Trip Planners Ltd., BSL Ltd, V-Marc India Ltd., Kaynes Technology India Ltd. and Hi-Tech Pipes hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while PayTM, Moksh Ornaments Ltd., Avanti Feeds, Olectra Greentech and CMM Infraprojects Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
