Share market update: FMCG shares mixed; United Breweries gains 8%

NEW DELHI: FMCG shares were trading on a mixed note in Friday's session.

Shares of United Breweries (up 7.86 per cent) , Emami (up 6.15 per cent) , VBL (up 2.98 per cent) , United Spirits (up 2.58 per cent) , Colgate Palmolive (India) (up 1.15 per cent) , Britannia Industries (up 0.98 per cent) , ITC (up 0.45 per cent) and Dabur India (up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Marico (down 1.49 per cent) , Hindustan Unilever (down 1.13 per cent) , TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS (down 0.87 per cent) , Nestle India (down 0.63 per cent) , P & G Hygiene (down 0.45 per cent) , Godrej Consumer Products (down 0.41 per cent) and Jubilant Foodworks (down 0.12 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.11 per cent up at 29652.7 around 02:12PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 131.45 points at 10160.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 388.44 points at 34369.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 9 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, SBI, Ashok Leyland, SAIL, PNB, Tata Power, Trident Ltd, Bank of Baroda and BHEL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
