Stock market update: Power stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading lower on Wednesday at 10:04AM

Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 8.35%), PTC India(up 4.96%), Kalpataru Power Transmission(up 3.03%), Indo Tech Transformers(up 2.33%), Suzlon Energy(up 1.99%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.38%), Energy Development Company(up 1.31%), RTNPOWER(up 1.30%), NLC India(up 1.05%) and Reliance Power(up 0.70%) were among the top gainers.

Indowind Energy(down 4.94%), Jyoti Structures(down 4.92%), Adani Transmissions(down 2.04%), KEC International(down 1.57%), Karma Energy(down 1.44%), Adani Power(down 1.11%), JSW Energy(down 0.72%), NHPC(down 0.64%), SJVN(down 0.59%) and GE Power India Limited(down 0.54%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 2.1 points down at 17912.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 21.97 points at 60137.45 at around 10:04AM.

Hindalco Industries(up 2.08%), HCL Technologies(up 1.24%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.05%), Tata Motors(up 0.97%), Tech Mahindra(up 0.93%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 0.79%), Infosys(up 0.73%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 0.72%), UltraTech Cement(up 0.71%) and Larsen & Toubro(up 0.62%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Bharti Airtel(down 3.51%), Cipla(down 2.38%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.37%), Eicher Motors(down 1.22%), Divis Laboratories(down 1.2%), Adani Enterprises(down 1.01%), Hindustan Unilever(down 0.97%), Reliance Industries(down 0.92%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.91%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.77%) were trading in the red.
