Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Wednesday's session.

Sikko Industries(up 20.00%), Agro Phos(up 4.98%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals(up 3.06%), Coromandel International(up 1.89%), G S F C(up 1.75%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (up 1.49%) and Aries Agro(up 0.83%) stood among the top gainers.

Madhya Bharat Agro Products(down 2.75%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 2.70%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(down 0.90%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(down 0.71%), Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 0.66%), Madras Fertlizers(down 0.66%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 0.60%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 0.52%), ZUARIAGRO(down 0.48%) and National Fertilizer(down 0.46%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 39.95 points down at 15692.15, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 152.18 points at 52541.39.

Bajaj Finserv(up 4.17%), Tata Motors(up 2.21%), Bajaj Finance(up 2.03%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.87%), Grasim Industries(up 1.71%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.57%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 1.28%), Larsen & Toubro(up 1.02%), Asian Paints(up 0.98%) and State Bank of India(up 0.73%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tata Steel(down 3.67%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 2.92%), NTPC(down 2.15%), Wipro(down 1.3%), Infosys(down 1.27%), Reliance Industries(down 1.21%), Hindustan Unilever(down 1.13%), Coal India(down 1.12%), Tech Mahindra(down 0.98%) and ITC(down 0.77%) closed in the red.
