Share market update: Most active stocks of the day in terms of traded value

NEW DELHI: HDFC Bank(Rs. 4060.13 crore), ICICI Bank(Rs. 2048.22 crore), RIL(Rs. 1664.81 crore), Kotak Bank(Rs. 1158.18 crore), Adani Gas(Rs. 1139.9 crore), Axis Bank(Rs. 1091.83 crore), SBI(Rs. 1040.74 crore), HDFC(Rs. 974.49 crore), Coal India Ltd(Rs. 817.86 crore) and Apollo Hospital(Rs. 812.02 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange in Thursday's session.

The NSE Nifty index ended the session 46.65 points down at 18487.75, while BSE Sensex fell 193.7 points to 62428.54.

In the Nifty index, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 4.16 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.38 per cent), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.69 per cent), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.67 per cent) and Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.50 per cent) stood among the top gainers.

On the other hand, Coal India Ltd.(down 4.52 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 4.18 per cent), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 2.58 per cent), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 2.21 per cent) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.71 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
