Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 3.45%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Friday.

Shares of Brigade Enterprises(up 3.95 per cent) and Macrotech Developers(up 0.15 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Indiabulls Real Estate(down 5.54 per cent), DLF(down 5.52 per cent), Sunteck Realty(down 4.9 per cent), SOBHA(down 4.73 per cent) and Godrej Properties(down 4.43 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 3.45 per cent down at 409.85.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 320.55 points at 17806.8, while the BSE Sensex stood down 980.93 points at 59845.29.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 1 ended in the green, while 48 closed in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, PNB, IOB and Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Syncom Form, Ascom Leasing & Inve, Ultra Wiring Connect, Mindpool Technologie and Goldstar Power hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Abans Holdings Ltd., Compucom Soft, Bedmutha Ind, V2 Retail Ltd and Goldstone Tech hit their fresh 52-week lows.
