Stock market update: Auto stocks down; Eicher Motors dips 4%

NEW DELHI: Auto stocks were trading on a negative note at 11:05AM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Eicher Motors (down 4.35 per cent), Balkrishna Industries (down 4.15 per cent), Bosch (down 3.12 per cent), TVS Motor Company (down 1.66 per cent) and Tata Motors (down 1.52 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Ashok Leyland (up 1.06 per cent), Amara Raja Batteries (up 0.28 per cent), Motherson Sumi Systems (up 0.25 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra (up 0.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.98 per cent down at 7802.3 around 11:05AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 23.25 points at 11323.7, while the BSE Sensex was up 92.79 points at 38403.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lupin, KIOCL Ltd., APL Apollo Tube, Birlasoft and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. and Uniinfo Telecom Services Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
