Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: YES Bank(number of shares traded: 9.81 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 5.72 crore), Tata Motors(number of shares traded: 2.96 crore), PNB(number of shares traded: 2.59 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 2.27 crore), Tata Steel(number of shares traded: 2.24 crore), IDBI Bank(number of shares traded: 1.74 crore), IOB(number of shares traded: 1.69 crore), South Indian Bnk(number of shares traded: 1.55 crore) and Zomato Ltd.(number of shares traded: 1.51 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:40AM in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 124.9 points down at 17976.3, while BSE Sensex was down 471.82 points at 60275.49 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Tata Motors Ltd.(up 6.46 per cent), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.19 per cent), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.08 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.04 per cent) and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.84 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 2.35 per cent), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 1.87 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.81 per cent), HDFC Bank Ltd.(down 1.78 per cent) and Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 1.68 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
