Stock market update: Media stocks rise; TV Today Network surges 10%

NEW DELHI: Media stocks were trading on a positive note at 11:20AM on Tuesday.

Shares of TV Today Network (up 9.96 per cent), Zee Entertainment (up 3.54 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 2.79 per cent), Sun TV Network (up 1.61 per cent) and Dish TV India (up 1.26 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While DB Corp (down 1.11 per cent) and Inox Leisure (down 0.04 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.85 per cent up at 1364.6 around 11:20AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index was up 45.65 points at 11315.8, while the BSE Sensex was up 195.36 points at 38377.44.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, SAIL, YES Bank, ITC and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of GMM Pfaudler, J B Chem, Hindustan Zinc, JSPL and Alkyl Amines hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
