    Stocks in the news: ITC, Zomato, UPL, Adani Green, NMDC and Telcos

    Stocks in buzz: Kansai Nerolac Paints, Eveready Industries, Triveni Turbine, HG Infra, Pfizer, Mastek, Max Financial, Castrol and more
    Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 64.5 points, or 0.37 per cent lower at 17,328.5, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a negative start on Tuesday. Here are a dozen stocks which may buzz the most in today's trade:

    Adani Green, Siemens, Indus Towers: Adani Green Energy, Siemens, Indus Towers, Bosch, Godrej Properties, Tube Investments, Voltas, Deepak Nitrite, Thermax, Bank of India, Sheela Foam, Brigade Enterprises, Saregama India and Shyam Metaliks and Energy are among the companies that will announce their earnings for the quarter ended June 2022.

    Telcos: India's biggest ever auction of telecom spectrum received a record Rs 1.5 lakh crore of bids, with Mukesh Ambani's Jio cornering nearly half of all the airwaves sold with a Rs 88,078 crore bid. Telecom tycoon Sunil Bharti Mittal's Bharti Airtel made a successful bid of Rs 43,084 crore, while Vodafone Idea bought spectrum for Rs 18,799 crore.

    ITC: The FMCG and diversified bluechip reported a 33.46 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 4,462.25 crore for the April-June quarter following a good performance by its business verticals. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 3,343.44 crore during the April-June quarter of the previous fiscal.

    Zomato: The online food delivery platform said its consolidated net loss in the first quarter of the current financial year almost halved to Rs 186 crore due to higher income. The company had reported a net loss of Rs 360.7 crore in the year-ago period.

    UPL: The Agrochemical major reported a 34.17 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,005 crore for the quarter ending June 30 compared to the same period of the previous financial year. The company's consolidated net stood at Rs 749 crore during the April-June quarter of 2021-22.

    NMDC: The mineral producer recorded monthly production of iron ore at 2.05 million tonnes in July 2022, declining from 3.06 million tonnes in July 2021 and sales dropped to 2.95 million tonnes from 3.29 million tonnes during the same period.

    Kansai Nerolac Paints: The paint producer reported a 36.51 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 152.05 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2022. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 111.38 crore in the April-June period a year ago.

    Eveready Industries India: The battery and flashlights maker reported a decline of 27.48 per cent in its consolidated net profit at Rs 21.85 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2022. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 30.13 crore in the April-June period a year ago.

    Triveni Turbine: The steam turbine manufacturer posted over 38 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit to Rs 38.33 crore for the April-June quarter on account of higher income. The consolidated net profit of the company in the quarter ended on June 30, 2021, was at Rs 27.75 crore.

    Pfizer: The pharma company has received Rs 180.48 crore from Mylan after it has transferred Upjohn business (rimarily off-patent branded and generic established medicines business) comprising of six brands which included Lyrica, Viagra, Celebrex, Amlogard, Daxid and Dilantin along with related business assets and liabilities to Mylan.

    HG Infra Engineering: The engineering and construction firm has received the completion certificate for construction of eight lane carriageway in Rajasthan. The certificate of completion dated August 1 has been issued by the authority and the project has been declared fit for entry into operation on June 26, 2022.

    Castrol India:
    The lubes maker reported a 47 per cent growth in profit after tax at Rs 206.26 crore in the June quarter. The company had recorded a Profit After Tax (PAT) at Rs 140 crore the second quarter of 2021.

    Mastek: Smallcap World Fund Inc purchased 5,54,883 lakh shares of IT company Rs 117 crore through an open market transaction at an average price of Rs 2,109.96 apiece, valuing the transaction size at Rs 117.07 crore. the bulk deal data suggested. Meanwhile, Ashish Kacholia sold 5.50 lakh shares of Mastek for Rs 2,110 per scrip.

    Max Financial Services: The financial services player recorded a 91.2 per cent year-on-year growth in consolidated profit at Rs 68.48 crore for the quarter ended June 2022. Total revenue from operations declined 45 per cent to Rs 3,272 crore in Q1FY23.

    Punjab & Sind Bank: The state-owned lender reported an 18 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 205 crore in the April-June quarter of FY23, helped by a decline in bad loans. The bank had posted a net profit of Rs 174 crore in the year-ago quarter. Sequentially, it had registered a net profit of Rs 346 crore in the January-March 2022 quarter.

    Union Bank of India: The state run lender expects to recover Rs 15,000 crore from bad loan accounts during the current fiscal year, and a bulk of this would come from accounts undergoing insolvency resolution process.

    Nelcast:
    The ductile and grey iron castings producer has clocked a 283.5 per cent year-on-year growth in profit at Rs 7.8 crore for the quarter ended June 2022, driven by healthy operating performance and top line. Revenue grew by 60 per cent to Rs 295.2 crore with growth in volumes and better realization.
