Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.91% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 11:25AM(IST)on Monday in a weak market.

Mindtree(up 3.21 per cent), Coforge(up 3.01 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech(up 2.51 per cent), L&T Technology(up 2.46 per cent) and MPhasis(up 1.07 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Wipro(down 0.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.91 per cent at 29861.95 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 5.25 points at 18344.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 117.57 points at 61677.47.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 26 were trading in the green, while 24 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., BHEL, Tata Steel and Trident Ltd were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Bohra Industries, Hindustan Foods, FIEM Industries, Phantom Digital Effects Ltd. and Allcargo Logistics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Shakti Pumps, Frog Cellsat Ltd., United Drilling, Trident Ltd and Gangotri Text hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
