Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.01%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Tuesday.

Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate(up 1.43 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Macrotech Developers(down 1.93 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 1.66 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 1.12 per cent), Oberoi Realty(down 1.01 per cent) and Brigade Enterprises(down 0.56 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.01 per cent down at 433.1.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 147.15 points at 16483.85, while the BSE Sensex stood down 497.73 points at 55268.49.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 13 ended in the green, while 37 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Archidply Ind, eMudhra Ltd., Kirloskar Elec, Paradeep Phosphates Ltd. and Hardwyn India hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Tanla Solutions, Zomato Ltd., P E Analytics Ltd., Gayatri Project and Future Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
