Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.73% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 10:14AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

Coforge(up 0.42 per cent) and Persistent Systems(up 0.23 per cent) were among the top gainers.

L&T Technology(down 1.6 per cent), Tech Mahindra(down 1.24 per cent), Wipro(down 1.11 per cent), MPhasis(down 1.0 per cent) and HCL Technologies(down 0.94 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.73 per cent at 30094.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 177.8 points at 17940.5, while the BSE Sensex was down 561.23 points at 60417.52.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 6 were trading in the green, while 44 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Zomato Ltd., Vodafone Idea, FSN E-Comm(Nykaa)and PNB were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of DRS Dilip Roadlines, Radhika Jeweltech, Lambodhara Text, Servotech Power Syst and Upsurge Seeds of Agriculture Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Kiri Industries, JBF Industries, Ballarpur Inds., Aurobindo Pharma and Dynemic Product hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
