Stock market update: IT stocks up; Tech Mahindra gains nearly 1%

NEW DELHI: IT stocks were trading higher 11:32AM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Info Edge (India) (up 1.1 per cent), Tech Mahindra (up 0.76 per cent), NIIT Technologies (up 0.54 per cent), Wipro (up 0.54 per cent) and Infosys (up 0.44 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While HCL Technologies (down 1.03 per cent), Larsen & Toubro Infotech (down 0.88 per cent) and MPhasis (down 0.63 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty IT index was trading 0.22 per cent up at 18147.3 around 11:32AM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27.45 points at 11327.9, while the BSE Sensex was up 100.17 points at 38410.66.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Ashok Leyland, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lupin, KIOCL Ltd., APL Apollo Tube, Birlasoft and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd. and Uniinfo Telecom Services Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
