Stock market update: BSE Consumer Durables index up 2%; Orient Electric leaps 7%

NEW DELHI: S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading higher at 12:47PM (IST) on Friday.

Shares of Crompton (up 8.24 per cent), Orient Electric (up 6.87 per cent), Sheela Foam (up 2.43 per cent), TTK Prestige (up 2.31 per cent) and Titan Company Ltd (up 1.28 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Blue Star (down 1.68 per cent) and Rajesh Exports (down 0.48 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 2.03 per cent up at 25001.35 around 12:47PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 47.75 points at 11944.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 160.65 points at 40719.14.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 31 were trading in the green, while 19 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Ashok Leyland, Federal Bank and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd., Ceat, Sonata Software, Tata Elxsi and Welspun India hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while 7NR Retail Ltd., A & M Febcon Ltd., Mehai Technology Ltd., Goldline International Finvest Ltd., Colorchips New Media Ltd., Tranway Technologies Ltd., Primuss Pipes & Tubes Ltd., Advik Capital Ltd., Madhusudan Securities Ltd. and Neil Industries Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
