Share market update: Metal shares shine; SAIL jumps over 4%

NEW DELHI: Metal shares were trading with gains in Thursday's session.

Shares of Hindalco Industries (up 4.32 per cent) , Steel Authority of India (up 4.24 per cent) , Welspun Corp (up 4.22 per cent) , Jindal Steel & Power (up 3.84 per cent) , Tata Steel (up 3.25 per cent) , National Aluminium Company (up 3.08 per cent) , VEDL (up 1.99 per cent) , Hindustan Copper (up 1.75 per cent) , JSW Steel (up 1.43 per cent) , Hindustan Zinc (up 1.36 per cent) , NMDC Ltd (up 1.06 per cent) and APL Apollo Tubes (up 0.4 per cent) were among the top gainers.


The Nifty Metal index was trading 1.98 per cent up at 2095.0 around 12:21PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 61.55 points at 10767.3, while the BSE Sensex was up 241.57 points at 36570.58.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 30 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, SAIL, SBI, Tata Motors, YES Bank, NALCO, Hindalco Inds., GAIL and ICICI Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
