Stock market update: Nifty Media index rises 1%; Dish TV jumps 5%

NEW DELHI: Nifty Media index was trading with gains at 01:00PM (IST) on Thursday.

Shares of Dish TV India (up 4.57 per cent), Hathway Cable & Datacom (up 4.45 per cent), Navneet Education Ltd (up 2.27 per cent), Inox Leisure (up 2.23 per cent) and Zee Entertainment (up 2.2 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While TV18 Broadcast (down 0.46 per cent), TV Today Network (down 0.43 per cent), Network 18 Fincap (down 0.27 per cent), DB Corp (down 0.26 per cent) and PVR (down 0.16 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Media index was trading 1.2 per cent up at 1668.4 around 01:00PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 17.20 points at 11552.2, while the BSE Sensex was up 2.48 points at 39088.51.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 21 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, YES Bank, Zee Ent. and SBI were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tata Consumer Products, Adani Green Energy Ltd., Hathway Cable, Tube Investments of India Ltd. and AstraZeneca hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Aaron Industries Ltd., Kuantum Papers Ltd. and Twentyfirst Century Management Services Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
