Share market update: Auto shares down; Tata Motors dips over 1%

NEW DELHI: Auto shares were trading in the red in Monday's session.

Shares of Amara Raja Batteries (down 2.74 per cent) , Motherson Sumi Systems (down 2.51 per cent) , Ashok Leyland (down 1.88 per cent) , Tata Motors (down 1.45 per cent) , Bosch (down 1.36 per cent) , Exide Industries (down 1.3 per cent) , MRF (down 1.17 per cent) , Eicher Motors (down 1.05 per cent) , Mahindra & Mahindra (down 0.79 per cent) , TVS Motor Company (down 0.39 per cent) , Balkrishna Industries (down 0.31 per cent) , Bharat Forge (down 0.2 per cent) and Hero MotoCorp (down 0.08 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 0.42 per cent down at 7188.05 around 02:34PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 45.35 points at 11148.8, while the BSE Sensex was down 136.54 points at 37992.36.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, ICICI Bank, SBI, IDFC First Bank Ltd., Indian Oil Corp, Zee Ent., Federal Bank, RIL and Tata Motors were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
