Stock market update: Nifty Bank index falls 0.66% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded negative around 10:45AM(IST)on Thursday in a weak market.

Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.7 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 0.35 per cent) and Federal Bank(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

AU Small Finance Bank(down 2.87 per cent), Axis Bank(down 2.82 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 1.75 per cent), State Bank of India(down 1.15 per cent) and Punjab National Bank(down 0.89 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Bank index was down 0.66 per cent at 41505.55 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 112.0 points at 18045.0, while the BSE Sensex was down 400.31 points at 60633.24.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 15 were trading in the green, while 35 were in the red.

Shares of PNB, Vodafone Idea, FSN E-Comm(Nykaa), Union Bank India and Bank of Baroda were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Magnum Ventures, Linc Pen Plast, Refex Industries, Kriti Nutrients and MPS Ltd hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Everest Kanto, Mega Flex Plastics Ltd., Piramal Pharma Ltd., Team Lease Service and Quess Corp hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
