    Stock market update: Nifty Bank index advances 0.31% in an upbeat market

    NEW DELHI: The Nifty Bank index traded positive around 11:06AM(IST)on Wednesday in an upbeat market.

    Punjab National Bank(up 1.82 per cent), IDFCBANK(up 1.63 per cent), State Bank of India(up 0.95 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 0.82 per cent) and Bank of Baroda(up 0.71 per cent) were among the top gainers.

    AU Small Finance Bank(down 0.48 per cent), Bandhan Bank(down 0.47 per cent), Axis Bank(down 0.39 per cent), ICICI Bank(down 0.12 per cent) and IndusInd Bank(down 0.03 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

    The Nifty Bank index was up 0.31 per cent at 44882.1 at the time of writing this report.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 31.45 points at 19470.85, while the BSE Sensex was up 107.03 points at 65724.87.

    Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

    Shares of Reliance Power, Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Zomato and Easy Trip Planners were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

    Shares of Premier Exp, Ashoka Metcast, Zen Tech, Elgi Equipments and Onward Tech hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Pentagon Rubber, Magson Retail & Dist, Aatmaj Healthcare Ltd., Jainam Ferro Alloys and Cell Point(India)hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
