    Free booster dose, new rail line and Gati Shakti university: Union Cabinet's major announcements

    The Cabinet has decided to make the booster doses free for people over 18 years of age for 75 days starting from July 15. "When the Covid pandemic hit the country, the Modi government was able to eradicate the tension among the mass. We mass produced two different vaccine doses, Covishield and Covaxin. Since then more than 199 crore free vaccination has been distributed so far," said Union minister Anurag Thakur.

    The Union Cabinet met on Wednesday under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and took three important decisions.
    Free booster vaccination dose for citizens above 18-year-old
    The Cabinet has decided to make the booster doses free for people over 18 years of age for 75 days starting from July 15.     Gati Shakti university
    The Cabinet approved upgradation of National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI) to Gati Shakti University and it will be changed from a Deemed to be University to a Central University. New researches, degree and diploma opportunity will be provided by the university which will be beneficial for the students across the country. Universities, railways, infrastructure has taken a leap under the Modi government's Gati Shakti Yojana. Now working on Rs 100 crore development programme on roads and railways. Where researches, applied science, technology will be used for the better development of roads and railways.

    Taranga Hill-Ambaji-Abu Road new rail line
    The Cabinet has also approved Taranga Hill-Ambaji-Abu Road new rail line to provide connectivity and improve mobility. The estimated cost of this project is Rs. 2798.16 crore and will be completed by 2026-27. New railway line at Taranga hills to Abu road will help to join two states, Rajasthan and Gujarat respectively. It will help to connect three pilgrimage centers that will not only help devotees but also be beneficial for the farmers, businessman and army officials coming to the state.
