Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.06%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Monday.

Shares of Indiabulls Real Estate(up 1.63 per cent), Brigade Enterprises(up 1.63 per cent) and Phoenix Mills(up 0.79 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Macrotech Developers(down 5.43 per cent), Godrej Properties(down 2.15 per cent), Oberoi Realty(down 1.44 per cent), Prestige Estates Projects(down 0.88 per cent) and DLF(down 0.18 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.06 per cent down at 396.8.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 51.45 points at 16214.7, while the BSE Sensex stood down 37.78 points at 54288.61.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 ended in the green, while 23 closed in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, SAIL, BHEL and Ashok Leyland were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Akshar Spintex, SP Refractories Ltd., Commercial Engg, Apcotex Ind and Lancer Container Lin hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while JSW Steel, Tata Steel, NMDC, SAIL and Prudent Corporate Advisory Services Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week lows.
