Stock market update: Nifty Realty index advances 1.29%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a positive note on Thursday.

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects(up 4.97 per cent), Oberoi Realty(up 2.97 per cent), Macrotech Developers(up 2.17 per cent), DLF(up 1.1 per cent) and Godrej Properties(up 1.03 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises(down 3.32 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.29 per cent up at 440.4.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 124.25 points at 17659.0, while the BSE Sensex stood up 515.31 points at 59332.6.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 ended in the green, while 20 closed in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, JP Power, Tata Steel and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Wonderla Holidays, Safari Ind, Navkar Corp, Sree Rayalaseema and Cantabil Retail hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Future Consumer, Agni Green Power Ltd., NGL Fine Chem, Future Retail and Birla Tyres hit their fresh 52-week lows.
