Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks down as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed lower in the Thursday's session.

ZUARIAGRO(up 8.27%), Deepak Fertilizers & Petrochemicals(up 3.74%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers(up 1.77%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products(up 1.43%), Agro Phos(up 0.25%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries(up 0.21%) and G S F C(up 0.20%) stood among the top gainers.

Fertilizers & Chemicals Tranvancore(down 2.93%), Sikko Industries(down 2.67%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chem(down 2.33%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers (down 2.23%), Coromandel International(down 2.12%), Rama Phosphates(down 1.62%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers(down 1.47%), National Fertilizer(down 1.44%), Madras Fertlizers(down 1.40%) and Bohra Industries(down 1.39%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 5.9 points down at 17610.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 224.16 points at 59932.24.

ITC(up 4.76%), Britannia Industries(up 4.62%), IndusInd Bank(up 3.27%), Hindustan Unilever(up 2.35%), Infosys(up 2.1%), Wipro(up 1.75%), HCL Technologies(up 1.55%), Tata Consultancy(up 1.53%), Axis Bank(up 1.31%) and ICICI Bank(up 1.17%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Adani Enterprises(down 26.7%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 6.6%), UPL Ltd(down 6.16%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(down 4.46%), Divis Laboratories(down 2.68%), Eicher Motors(down 2.6%), Hero MotoCorp(down 2.43%), HDFC(down 1.82%), NTPC(down 1.82%) and Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.78%) closed in the red.
