Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: South Indian Bnk(number of shares traded: 11.30 crore), BHEL(number of shares traded: 6.72 crore), PNB(number of shares traded: 5.87 crore), Zomato Ltd.(number of shares traded: 3.37 crore), IDFC First Bank(number of shares traded: 2.98 crore), Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 2.91 crore), JP Power(number of shares traded: 2.66 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 2.47 crore), Suzlon Energy(number of shares traded: 2.43 crore) and GTL Infra(number of shares traded: 2.16 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 11:26AM in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 54.2 points down at 17676.55, while BSE Sensex was down 185.48 points at 59646.18 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.52 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.88 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.80 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.54 per cent) and Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 1.38 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Nestle India Ltd.(down 2.75 per cent), Britannia Industries Ltd.(down 2.59 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 2.41 per cent), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 2.39 per cent) and UPL Ltd.(down 2.03 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
