Stock market update: Nifty Auto index falls 1.78% in a weak market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Auto index traded negative around 11:26AM(IST)on Wednesday in a weak market.

TIINDIA(up 0.04 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Bharat Forge(down 4.24 per cent), Bosch(down 2.77 per cent), Maruti Suzuki(down 2.76 per cent), Tata Motors(down 2.4 per cent) and Balkrishna Industries(down 2.15 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Auto index was down 1.78 per cent at 12792.35 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 111.0 points at 17234.45, while the BSE Sensex was down 323.16 points at 57813.2.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 10 were trading in the green, while 39 were in the red.

Shares of Zomato Ltd., YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Tata Steel and IDFC First Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Navneet Education, FIEM Industries, Beardsell Ltd, International Constructions Ltd. and Party Cruisers Ltd. hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Birla Tyres, SKP Bearing Industries Ltd., Melstar Info, Karda Const and GSK Pharma hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
