Stock market update: Nifty PSU Bank index down nearly 2%; Bank of Baroda dips over 4%

NEW DELHI: Nifty PSU Bank index was trading with losses at 01:07PM (IST) on Tuesday.

Shares of Bank of Baroda (down 4.47 per cent), Bank of Maharashtra (down 2.1 per cent), Punjab National Bank (down 1.97 per cent), Bank of India (down 1.85 per cent) and Central Bank of India (down 1.79 per cent) were the top losers in the index.

While Punjab & Sind Bank (up 1.83 per cent) and UCO Bank (up 1.69 per cent) were among the top gainers.

The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.65 per cent down at 1301.55 around 01:07PM.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 46.70 points at 11919.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 207.5 points at 40639.1.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 25 were trading in the green, while 25 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, Federal Bank, SBI, Bank of Baroda and Zee Ent. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Tata Comm, Ambuja Cements, JK Cement, ACC and Ruchi Soya Inds hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade, while Mittal Life Style Ltd., Uniinfo Telecom Services Ltd., Vasa Retail & Overseas Ltd., Lypsa Gems & Jewellery Ltd., Sumit Woods Ltd., Zee Learn Ltd., Som Distilleries & Breweries Ltd., SKIL Infrastructure Ltd., Industrial Investment Trust Ltd. and Maheshwari Logistics Ltd. hit fresh 52 week low in trade.
